 SUPER BOWL XLVI IS TONIGHT Looking for Christian fellowship, food, fun and football?  Then come enjoy the “Big Game” tonight in the Family Life Center on one of the two big screen televisions! Bring your favorite “Tailgate” food (a covered dish--enough for your family plus!) beginning at 6:00 p.m. (kick-off is at 6:20 p.m.).  Tea and soft drinks will be provided. This will be a great opportunity to fellowship and cheer for your favorite team---or just laugh at the commercials! We’ll all go home at halftime. See you there!
 
ATTENTION: ADULT CHOIR MEMBERS ~ Just a reminder that there will be NO choir practice tonight, however, regular Sunday evening choir practices will resume next Sunday at 5:30 p.m. in the choir loft.
 
CHRISTIAN WOMEN’S CIRCLE ~ All ladies are invited to the next Christian Women’s Circle meeting on Tuesday, February 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the main building beside the kitchenette. If you have never been to a meeting or if it’s been a while since you have---then we especially invite you to come and join us as we plan activities such as nursing home visitation, prepare meals and remembrances for those who have been sick, plan special events, contribute to mission projects and pray, fellowship and eat—just to name a few!  Please attend—and bring a friend!
 
COLLEGE CARE PACKAGES ~ The CWC Extra Touch Committee will be making College Care Packages following the meeting on Tuesday.  If anyone would like to contribute to the packages, please bring them by the church office before Tuesday or better yet---bring them to the meeting with you.
 
MAMIE CARTER’S BIRTHDAY ~ One of our oldest church members, Mamie Carter, is having a birthday on Tuesday, February 7th.  It would be wonderful for her to receive lots of cards from her church family, letting her know that we are thinking of her!  Please don’t think that it’s too late because it would be nice if we could extend her joy with cards all during the week!  Cards may be sent to: Mamie Carter, Golden Living Centers – Elizabeth Adam Crump, 3600 Mountain Road, Glen Allen, VA 23060.

PRAYER FOR OUR NICARAGUA MISSION TEAM ~ The PHCC Nicaragua Mission Team will be departing from the church parking lot this Thursday at 3:30 a.m. and return on Saturday, February 18th.  Please pray for our team members as they serve; pray for the health of the team members; pray for safety as they travel and that there will be a smooth process through customs; pray that God may give each of the team members discernment to know how to best present the Gospel to the people of Nicaragua and that lives will be won to Christ as they share the Love of God. May they all be used of God with the gifts and talents He has given each of them!  As they seek to accomplish the work laid out before them, may God’s plans unfold in miraculous ways! The 2012 Team members are:

MISSION HIGHLIGHT:
GGG Scholarship
Gillie Guillette was one of the many who caught the vision of Anna Whitaker for a Christian youth Camp.  Gillie was a businessman and donated much needed equipment to the camp.  Over the years, he also donated his time to serve as: Camp Treasurer, volunteer staff and “Dorm Dad”, He was a Trustee for over 20 years, and He was a wonderful man of integrity.
The Gullie Guillette scholarship provides camper scholarships
for families who cannot afford to pay all or part of the camp fees.  Scholarship funds are provided by area churches. 
The Board of Trustees administers the program.  Applications are available on the web page at www.camprudolph.org.
 
VALENTINE BANQUET THIS SATURDAY ~ Don’t forget this is the LAST SUNDAY to get a ticket to the annual Valentine Banquet for this Saturday, February 11, at 6:00 p.m. in the Family Life Center. A wonderful dinner, program and fellowship in a beautiful setting is planned.  Are you looking for a great way to introduce your friends and neighbors to the folks at PHCC?  Invite them to this event! Get your tickets today from Lisa King. Tickets are $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 10 and under.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO SIGN UP if you can help the VIPs feed the needy at the Emporia Good Samaritan Helping Hand Kitchen on Thursday, February 9.  Please indicate in what area you can participate (cooking, serving or donating money).  Our group will be leaving the church parking lot at 10 a.m. with the food for serving at 11:30.  Cooks will be contacted about what food is needed and any money donations can be given to Judy Peters. The need is great as the number of recipients has doubled.

YOUTH CONVENTIONS COMING UP:  Youth Convention Trips are being planned for all ages divided into different age categories:  Ground Zero (for 3rd, 4th, & 5th graders) March 23 & 24, 2012; MOVE (9th grade and up); MIX (6th, 7th and 8th graders). Attendees portion of the cost of registration ($20) for the Ground Zero Convention is due by Feb 20; Rob needs to know of all interested attendees for MOVE and MIX before Feb 19th. 
 
BASKETBALL GAMES are being played on the 2nd and 4th Thursday nights of each month in the FLC. Come join us!

SKI TRIP ~ A Ski Trip to Massanutten Resort (located at 1822 Resort Drive, McGaheysville, VA 22840) is planned for Thursday, February 23 for youth in the *6th grade and older.  Cost is $57 (+$18 for those that require a lesson).  We will leave the PHCC parking lot at 4:45 a.m.  Sign the list on the Youth Bulletin Board if you want to go! (*see Rob if there is anyone younger who would like to go. This age group MUST BE accompanied by a parent or guardian.)
WOMEN OF FAITH 2012 ~ Ladies, if you are interested in attending the 2012 Women of Faith “Celebrate” conference on Oct 19th & 20th, please see Tammy Hand or Michele Howerton. 
 
TEEN LIFE GROUP MEETS ON WEDNESDAY ~ All youth in the 6th grade and older will meet on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. at the Tromm’s house this week. Bring a friend!
